    TERMS & CONDITIONS

    DIGITAL FINANCE AWARDS BELGIUM


    The below Terms and Conditions are valid from 1 January 2026.
    Last update: 1 January 2026


    1. EVENT POLICY

    I. TICKETS

    All bookings are non-refundable. Substitutions of attendees may be permitted, subject to availability and a potential administration fee.

    II. CANCELLATIONS BY ATTENDEES

    No refunds will be given if you cancel. Ticket transfers may be allowed, subject to availability and any applicable administration fee.

    III. EVENT CHANGES

    We reserve the right to change the date, venue, or format of the event. Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event.

    IV. EVENT CANCELLATION BY ORGANISER

    If we cancel the event and do not reschedule, a full refund of the ticket price will be issued.

    V. EVENT POSTPONEMENT

    If the event is postponed, tickets will remain valid for the new date. Attendees who cannot attend the new date may request a refund within a reasonable period following the announcement.

    VI. FORCE MAJEURE

    We are not liable for cancellations or delays caused by events beyond our control (e.g. strikes, extreme weather, or government restrictions, pandemics, ...). In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or offer refunds where appropriate.

    VII. LIABILITY

    We are not liable for travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred. 


    2. CODE OF CONDUCT

    I. RESPECT FOR ALL

    • Treat everyone with kindness, respect, and courtesy, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or background.

    • Be considerate of others’ personal space, opinions, and boundaries.

    II. INCLUSIVITY

    • Welcome and include all participants. Ensure no one feels excluded or marginalised.

    • Avoid any form of discriminatory or exclusionary behaviour.

    III. POSITIVE COMMUNICATION

    • Engage in constructive and respectful communication. Avoid derogatory, offensive, or inflammatory language.

    • Be mindful of tone and body language when interacting with others.

    IV. HARASSMENT-FREE ENVIRONMENT

    • Any form of harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation, or unwelcome advances, is strictly prohibited.

    • Report any inappropriate behaviour to event organisers immediately.

    V. SUBSTANCE USE

    • Consume alcohol responsibly (if served). Do not pressure others to partake.

    • Illegal substances or activities are not allowed.

    VI. CONSENT

    • Always seek explicit, informed consent before engaging in physical contact (including hugs, touching, etc.).

    • Respect others’ boundaries and their right to decline interaction without question or pressure.

    VII. CONFLICT RESOLUTION

    • If conflicts arise, approach them with empathy and an open mind.

    • Seek peaceful resolutions or report the issue to event organizers if necessary.

    VIII. HEALTH AND SAFETY

    • Prioritize the health and safety of others. Avoid actions that could harm others physically or emotionally.

    • Follow all venue safety rules and instructions from organizers, including COVID-19 precautions, if applicable.

    IX. NO DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR

    • Avoid behavior that disrupts the event or other participants’ enjoyment.

    • Respect the venue, its property, and event staff.

    X. CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATIONS

    • Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the event and potential barring from future events.

    • Organizers reserve the right to take any actions necessary to maintain a safe, inclusive environment.

    • Removal from the event by the Organizers does not entitle you to any refunds or compensation. 


    3. WEBSITE POLICY

     I. TERMINOLOGY

    1) The web platform “https://www.digitalfinanceawards.be/” (The Website) is property of “FinTech Belgium asbl/vzw” (FTBE) located in Boulevard du Roi Albert II 4 – 1000 Brussels – Belgium with VAT number : BE 0652.997.664.

    2) The Website and the information provided in it are functioning according to the herein described terms of usage. The usage of The Website implies the unconditional acceptance all of the following Terms and Conditions.

    II. SECURITY

    3) The Website contains the latest and most established applications and security technologies that relate to the personal information of the User.

    III. ACCESS

    4) FTBE does not guarantee the continuous functioning of The Website.

    5) FTBE reserves the right to interrupt the access to certain material or the entire website for an unlimited period of time, planned or accidental. Accordingly FTBE is not liable for any occurred as a result of the suspension harm to the User.

    6) FTBE reserves the right to redirect the User to other websites that are controlled by FTBE. In this case, the User has to accept the terms and conditions of those websites.

    7) FTBE reserves the right to redirect the User to other websites that are owned and controlled by third parties. FTBE has no control over the content of these websites and therefore has no responsibility for any of the information contained in these websites.

    IV. RESPONSIBILITY

    8) The information found on The Website shall not in any way be interpreted as any type of advice or consultation. All User actions related to the protection of his rights and legitimate interests have to be done after due consultation with a specialist in the needed area.

    9) The information provided on The Website can be general and abstract. Its proper application in practice depends on the right, including legal facts of the particular situation that cannot be described on The Website. This is the reason that FTBE has no responsibility of how the User apply the information in a different, more complex situation or a situation with specifics, resulting in any kind of damage over the User.

    10) By submitting any materials to the servers of FTBE via email or through The Website including, but not limited to, the User (whether speaker, partner, picth battle contestant, …) accepts that:

    10.1. The materials and information in / with them does not contain anything which is contrary to the applicable law.

    10.2. The User must use all appropriate means to detect and remove viruses as well as any harmful or destructive elements such as programs before sending the materials and information in / with them.

    10.3. Owns the materials and information in / with them or have the unlimited right to provide them - FTBE can publish them free of charge and / or use them or the ideas revealed in them without any financial or any other responsibility. In case the User does not want FTBE to publish the materials, he/she will clearly communicate it by registered mail or by email before the date of the event in which the material will be presented.

    V. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

    11) FTBE does not collect / process / store personal data. FTBE follows the rules of this document and the principles for handling personal data under the applicable law and the Law on Personal Data Protection of Belgium.

    VI. USER INFORMATION

    13) The information on The Website is monitored by the team of FTBE, but there are possible gaps in the information provided, including in the legislative regime. In the event of discrepancies between the information on The Website and legislation of Republic of Bulgaria and the European Union, the User can contact the team of FTBE. FTBE reserves the right to verify the signal and, if necessary, to take action.

    VII. CONDITIONS FOR CHANGES

    14) FTBE reserves the right to modify or renew the terms and conditions of The Website as and when it deems necessary. For current and accepted are the Terms and Conditions on The Website.

    VIII. COPYRIGHT

    15) All the information (articles, sample documents and other materials) of The Website, is intellectual property of the FTBE and / or authors in the team of the organisation. The following rules are applicable:

    15.1. Everyone is free to share any material with active link to its source (url address).

    15.2. Retaining any connection / link in the material.

    15.3. With reference to the author.

    15.4. Without modifications.

    15.5. And noncommercial.

    IX. LEGAL INFORMATION

    16) By using The Website and the information on it, the User expresses his unconditional agreement to these terms and conditions, thus obtaining the right to use The Website for free for personal and noncommercial purposes.
